Obituary:
John C. Runyon, 79, of Bradford, departed this life Monday, March 11, 2019. He was born June 10, 1939 in Tupelo, Arkansas to the late John and Eva (Long) Runyon.
John spent many years working for White County Roads Department. He enjoyed his time there and loved the people he worked with. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family and enjoyed their time together. John was a generous man and it showed by the way he treated others. If anyone needed help day or night, he was there. He enjoyed cattle farming, fishing, riding ATV’s, going to the mountains on vacation, and taking his family and friends to the lake camping. He loved nature and being outdoors. John was a special man and the life he lived will leave a legacy for his family and friends to follow.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva (Long) Runyon; and two brothers, Jim Runyon and Bob Runyon.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his wife, Lynda (Tyler) Runyon; three sons, Johnny Runyon and wife Deborah of Greenville, Illinois, Jeff Runyon and wife Sarah Kay of Beebe, and Steve Pankey and wife Andrea of Bradford; one brother, Jesse Runyon of McCrory; two sisters, Maddline Cotton of Clinton and Margaret Perkins of Warrenton, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Rick Davis, Tyler Runyon, Dillon Ruynon, Adam Runyon, Aaron Runyon, James Runyon, Alesha Conway, and Cole Conway; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Friends may visit the family Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 6-8 pm at the Bradford Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 10:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. Don Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery.
