Effie Christine Brinkley, 69, of Searcy, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 19, 2008. She was born April 10, 1939 in Carlisle a daughter of the late Joe Thomas and Stella Lee Crumley Frost. Christine was a retired employee of Wal-Mart in Searcy and was a member of the Crosby Baptist Church. She was a very active lady who enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting and fishing and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert Brinkley; son, Bobby Brinkley; daughters, Donna Edom (John) and family, Katie, Jonathon and Alexis; Robbie Graves (Scott) and family, Miles Davis; Bettye Fox (Mark) and family, Chuck Starks and Ashley Fox; Kathi Mackey (Danny) and family, Alyssa Moses and Jordan Watts; sister, Nancy Sue Weaver (Bill) and mother-in-law, Eula Christine Brinkley and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Crosby Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery by Powell Funeral Homes. The family wishes to thank the staff at White County Medical Center - Station 2, especially Michelle Cullum; Burt with White River Home Health and the Access Medical Staff. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
