H. LaFate Parsons, age 77, of Murfreesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs. He was born July 18, 1940 in Delight, the son of the late Jessie and Marie Finney Parsons. LaFate was retired pipeliner for Three Way Construction of Odessa, TX. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Delight. LaFate enjoyed testifying about the word, cooking bbq, gardening and fishing in his free time. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas Ray Parsons.
Survivors are his wife, Elsa Alvarez Parsons of Murfreesboro, one son, Thomas Parsons of Oklahoma, one sister, Mary Joyce of Gurdon, three grandchildren, Thomas Parsons Jr., Tyler (Jennifer) Parsons and Taylor Parsons, and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held , May 16, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Delight with Bro. Verlon Wood and Bro. Larry Miller officiating.
Interment was in the Delight Cemetery under the direction of Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia, AR.
Pallbearers are Henry Ward, Randy Cross, Keith Craig, Gene Holloway, Zane Woodall and Kelly Riley.
