James Edward Bolden, 70, of Bradford died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at Bradford.

Born Oct. 19, 1930, in Waldenburg, he was the son of Thomas and Maybell Alison Bolden. He was a retired farmer. He was a Korean War veteran and received the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Campaign Star, United Nations Service Medal and the Purple Heart. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Peggy Bolden; three sons, James Bolden Jr. of Royston, Ga., Tony D. Bolden Sr. of Bradford and Bill Bolden of Judsonia; three daughters, Vivian Holliman of Searcy, Peggy Sterling of Bradford and Karron Waller of Judsonia; two sisters, Vera Dennis of Ash Flat and Dora May Evans of Newport; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, and several brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Willis-Hays Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Floyd Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery in Bradford.

Pallbearers will be Ed Sizemore, Kenneth Hicks, Eddie Mayfield, Jim Dillard, Jeremiah Mendenhall, Wayne Epperson, Kerry Landers and Robbie Medlock.
