September 28, 1917 - November 20, 2010

Frances Belle Purifoy, age 93, of Greenwood, Arkansas, was welcomed into heaven on November 20, 2010. She is survived by her five children, Bobby, Thomas, Frances Ellen, John and his wife, Vicki, and David and his wife, Debbie, her grandchildren, Rob, Paul, Thomas Jr., Emily Johnson, Michael, Drew, Amy Piazza, Christopher, Katie, Bekah, and her great-grandchildren, Mary Pierson, Libby, Emily, Jacob and Luke. She married Robert James Purifoy, a Camden attorney, on January 15, 1938, and they enjoyed 57 years of a joyful and fruitful marriage. Together they operated the popular Cow Bell restaurant in Camden from 1952 until the mid 70's. Frances was born in Crossett, Arkansas and was raised in Bastrop, LA where she graduated from high school and attended the First Baptist Church. Frances was a resident at the Golden Years retirement center in Greenwood and member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church. She was noted for her infectious, generous personality as well as her skills and love of dominoes which led her to devise a game where no one is ever eliminated from play. Her family will miss her love, grace and surprising wit, but are grateful to God for her life which was filled with such daily inspiration and joy even until her final day on this earth. Her favorite scripture passage is Psalms 19:14, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer." Memorials may be made to Greenwood United Methodist Church, 10 West Denver, Greenwood, AR 72936. Proctor Funeral Home of Camden is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Proctor Funeral Home.
