Carey M. (Buddy) Isaacs, 74, departed this life on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Ouachita County Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Buddy was born May 27, 1939, in West Point, MS, to Robert L. Isaacs and Susie Ballard Isaacs (Smith).
He was a long-term employee of the Ouachita County Highway Department where he served proudly under the leadership of County Judge Mike Hesterly.
Buddy was a Fairview High School graduate and football player for the Fairview Cardinals. He remained an avid fan of the Camden-Fairview Cardinals and really enjoyed Friday night football with his friend David Deland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Isaacs and Susie Ballard Isaacs (Smith), a son, Carey Christopher Isaacs, of Camden, sisters Merle Maxine Tutt, of Camden and Peggy Posner of Moline, IL, brothers John Isaacs of Southhaven, MS, and William R. (Bill) Isaacs of Aiken, SC.
Buddy leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Diane Isaacs, of Camden, daughters Connie Isaacs and Tiffany Isaacs of Camden, granddaughters Dawn Isaacs of Kingsland, AR and Lacey Glover of Camden, grandsons Carson Isaacs and Tylor Hodges, Jr. of Camden, sister Mary Frances Marshall of Paris, TN, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, at Proctor Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Camden or Ouachita County Medical Center of Camden.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Dan Martin who was Buddy’s physician for 27 years, the staff of Ouachita County Medical Center who provided excellent care throughout his extended illness, Ouachita County Judge Mike Hesterly and Ouachita County Medical Center CEO Peggy Abbott for their encouragement, love, and support.
