February 25, 1968 - November 8, 2017
Sis. Wendy Yolanda Tyson’s journey began on February 25th, 1968. She was born to Earl Torrence and Tennessee Winfrey Stevenson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
At an early age, Sis. Wendy was baptized and accepted Christ as a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Camden, AR. Along with her family, she later became a member of Divine Antidote Christian Ministries of Camden, AR making them the first family to join the ministry. She most recently became an attendee of Changing Life Ministries of El Dorado, AR.
Sis. Wendy was united in holy matrimony to Bro. Stephen Tyson Sr. on March 16th, 1991 at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Camden, AR. To this union three children were born along with three grandchildren.
Sis. Wendy was a devoted educator for South Central Service Cooperative for over 23 years. She impacted the lives of many students and staff in the Camden and Harmony Grove School Districts. With her fun and loving personality, Sis. Wendy was an exceptional teacher that a child never forgot nor stopped loving, making her irreplaceable and the standard for which all other educators strive to achieve.
Sis. Wendy’s journey ended on November 8th, 2017 at home in Camden, AR surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Torrence, mother, Tennessee Winfrey Stevenson, mother-in-law Carolyn Batts, brothers Judge Winfrey and Clyde Winfrey Sr., and sister Freddie Winfrey.
Sis. Wendy leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband Stephen Tyson Sr., three children Kierra Tyson, Stephen Tyson Jr., and Dion Tyson, three grandchildren Landree Alexander, Wytleigh and Mylez Kirtz, one sister Louis Williams all of Camden, AR and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services for Wendy will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Great New Calvary Church of God in Christ with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, November 17, 2017 at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
