Sue Delaney Dodson, 83, died June 27, 2016. Mrs. Dodson was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Dodson, Sr.; her parents, Clyde and Verda Delaney; a brother, Bob Delaney; and three sisters, Juanita Delaney, Mary Terry, and Polly Robertson.

Mrs. Dodson was born 12/19/32. Sue became an RN in 1970 and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She was an open heart surgery nurse for a top cardiac surgeon at Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Sue then went to Jonesboro and was Operating Room Supervisor at St. Bernard’s Hospital before returning to Camden to work with Dr. Ozment at Ouachita County Medical Clinic. She was also active in the community as a small business owner. Sue’s Sewing Circle offered lap quilting lessons. She also enjoyed working with stained glass and painting. Sue had an infectious laugh and dry sense of humor. She offered a smile and peppermint everywhere she went. Her greatest joy in life was expressing her creativity, utilizing her knowledge and skills to help others, and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Dodson is survived by a son, John R. Dodson, Jr. of Camden, AR and his wife, Julia of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Harriette Allison of Camden, AR and Jennifer Naeger and her husband, Matthew of Pittsburg, PA; four grandchildren, Erin Mayrell of Dallas, TX, Jillian Allison of Camden, AR, Caleb Naeger of Pittsburg, PA and Avery Naeger of Pittsburg, PA; and a great-grandchild, Sydney Mayrell of Dallas, TX.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 30 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, AR.
