Vera Gladys Lusby, 98 of Bearden, AR passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 a St. John’s Place in Fordyce, AR. She was born February 11, 1915 in the Mt. Union Community in Union County to William A. and Elizabeth Williams Groves. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bearden and a life long member of Cullendale First Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and taught Beginner II Sunday School (5 year olds) for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Elizabeth Williams Groves; husband, C. N. Lusby; brother, Harmon Groves; sisters, Ruth McMahon and Cleo Lee; and grandson, Thomas Farmer Lusby.

She is survived by her sons, James Lusby and wife, Susan of Bearden, AR and Richard Lusby and wife, Sandra of Jonesboro, AR; grandsons, Ted Lusby of Jonesboro, AR and John Lusby of Los Angeles, CA, Jim Graham of New Orleans, LA, Jason Lusby of Hot Springs, AR, Justin Lusby of Bearden, AR and Jonathan Lusby of Bearden, AR; granddaughters, Lisa Gibson of Little Rock, AR and Cheri Hardin of Houston, TX; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 08, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Burks will officiate the service. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
