Harlen Bucklew, 58, of Rogers died at his home on Feb. 24, 2006. He was born on March 15, 1947, in Morgantown, W.Va., to Harlen Glenn Bucklew and Alice Wigley Bucklew.
He is preceded in death by his father in 1966; his nephew, Ernest Glenn Bucklew in 2003 and sister-in-law, Mary Bucklew, also in 2003.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1971. He was employed by Smurfit Stone Container of Rogers for 33 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching NASCAR races, the Arkansas Razorbacks and taking the family pontoon boat onto Beaver Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Nichols Bucklew of Rogers; two daughters, Sheila Foster and husband Anthony of Bentonville, Susan Stewart and husband Josh of Bethel Heights; one brother, Donald Bucklew of Enon Valley, Pa.; a sister, Christena Hancock, currently living in Uganda, Africa. Two stepsons, James Nichols and wife Misty of Durant, Okla., Jeffrey Nichols and wife Carrie of Houston; four granddaughters, Charae Red, Rhianna Stewart, Hope Stewart and Ryla Stewart; one grandson, Blake Red; two step-granddaughters, Emily Foster and Kate Nichols; one step-grandson, Justin Nichols; and several nieces and nephews from both sides of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at the following address: American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 40, Fayetteville, 72702.
Funeral service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Allan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
