Lela Faye Gibson Parker, age 89, a resident of Rowlett, Texas, formerly of Horatio, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. She was born March 12, 1927 in Horatio.
She graduated in 1947 from the University of Arkansas with a business degree, was a Landman for Ensearch Gas Company and a member of the First Baptist Church in Horatio.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Boyd and Lela Mae Davis Gibson; her husband, Robert Earl Parker; and a sister, Nancy Maude Gibson.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Allen LupPlace and Barbara and Jeff Jarvis, all of Rowlett, Texas; one son, Robert Gregg Parker of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Patricia Steuwe, Adam LupPlace, Amanda Jarvis, Scott Jarvis and Andrew Parker; five great grandchildren, Sarah Kennedy, Shaun Weaver, Annabelle LupPlace, Jorja LupPlace and Jase Gage; and one great-great grandchild, Allison Kennedy.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Parker will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016, in the First Baptist Church in Horatio, Arkansas with Bro. Jerry Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Horatio Cemetery.
