R.L. Haynes, 75, of Black Rock passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. He was born on May 15, 1944 to Melvin and Mittie Stratton Haynes in Walnut Ridge. On November 15, 1963 he married Sharon Shick in Yorkville, IL. R.L. was a truck driver and a member of the People’s Faith Tabernacle Church in Hoxie.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; brothers, Harvey and Kenneth Haynes; sisters, Ozella Green, Marcella Milligan and Iva Ruth Ball.

Survivors include his sons, Robert Haynes of Black Rock; Jerry Haynes (Amanda) of Walnut Ridge; daughters, Angela Fry (Anthony) of Swifton and Carmen Branch (Donnie) of Florida; a brother, Cecil Haynes of Hoxie; sisters, Lugene Smith of Walcott, Lucille Springer of St. Louis, Mo and Sheila Hinson of Paragould; grandchildren, Laura Bramblett, Leslie Fry, Alysha Tims, Toni McDougal, Dusten Haynes, Cassie Eddy, Camie Haynes, Jordan Haynes, Lindsey Coffman, Maddison Browning and several great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Hope Cemetery in Imboden. Roger Brand will officiate. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Due to the corona virus the state mandates a 6 foot increment must be kept between persons at all times at the cemetery.

Sharon Louise Haynes, 67, of Black Rock died Tuesday, July 16 at her residence. She was born July 30, 1945 in Aurora, IL to Howard William and Doris Adeline (Mitchell) Shick. On November 15, 1963 she married R.L. Haynes in Yorkville, IL. She was a homemaker and a member of Peoples Faith Tabernacle in Hoxie. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lois Shick.

Survivors include her husband R.L. Haynes of the home; sons, Robert Haynes of Black Rock and Jerry Haynes of Imboden; daughters, Angela Fry of Swifton and Carmen Branch of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Laura Bramblett, Leslie Fry, Alysha Tims, Toni McDougal, Dusten Haynes, Cassie Haynes, Camie Haynes, Jordan Haynes, Lindsey Coffman, Maddison Branch; great-grandchildren, Tyler Pitts, Gracie Tims, Hunter Tims, Adrianna McDougal, Makyla McDougal, Eli Haynes, Ava Coffman; brothers, Howard Shick of Bristol, IL, Richard Shick of Winterpark Village, FL, John Shick of Yorkville, IL; sisters, Helen Payne of Yorkville, IL, Gloria Marshall of Big Sandy, TN, Diana Marple of Peyton, CO, Dorene Rice of Oswego, IL.

Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00-8:00 pm at Peoples Faith Tabernacle in Hoxie. Funeral service will be Friday, 10:00 am at Peoples Faith Tabernacle under the direction of Cox-Fears Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Roger Brand officiating.

Pallbearers are Keith Aaron, Hershel Gilliam, Dan Callahan, Gerald Powell, Scott Ruthen, Elmo Woods.

Honorary pallbearers are Donald Clayton, Dwight Gosner, Garland Guntharp
