BEECHER, John Sutherland - John Sutherland Beecher was born in Owen County, Ind. near Patricksburg September 28, 1858 and died Tuesday morning January 28th at his home on North Third St. in Rogers at the age of 70 years, four months and one day. Was married November 8, 1881 to Miss Elizabeth Wallace and surviving him are Mrs. Beecher, one son, Ray of Hill City, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Hall of Gordon City, Mo. and Mrs. J.C. Hersch of Rogers; one son, Thomas I., was killed in the service of the World War. The deceased is also survived by four brothers: Levi of Valco, Mo.; Tom of Linton, Ind.; Ed of Hill City, Kan.; and Nate of Patricksburg, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Wright of Loveland, Colo. and Mrs. Emma Fulk of Spencer, Ind. The family came to Rogers eight years ago where they owned a large farm. Funeral services were held yesterday morning at the home and were conducted by Rev. W.L. Edwards, pastor of the First Christian church of Rogers and burial was in Rogers cemetery.
