*Obituary
Margaret Wimberly passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 11, 2018. She was born in Ozan, Arkansas on February 12, 1916.
She was raised in the Nashville area, many of those years spent at the family farm. She spoke fondly of her childhood and of all the wonderful experiences growing up with her siblings, Heloise and James Lewis. She married Cecil Clay Wimberly on February 29,1932. Their daughter, Mary Elizabeth was born February 28, 1934. In addition to raising her daughter, Mrs. Wimberly worked in jewelry retail in Camden, Arkansas and was very active in school activities. Her home was a gathering place for many of the young people in her daughter’s circle of friends. She was also a lifelong member of the Methodist faith.
After the passing of her husband in 1962, Mrs. Wimberly lived with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. She travelled the world, living the life of a military family member. She lived in exotic places such as Bangkok, Thailand and was able to experience many different cultures. She was a marvelous cook and gathered recipes from all over the world. Just as she welcomed her daughter’s friends with great hospitality, she did the same for her granddaughter’s friends. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
She is survived by her granddaughter Margie Graves of Fairfax Station, VA; son-in-law James Graves of Memphis, TN; nephew James R. (Tiny) Lewis, grand-niece Mona Lynn Lewis, grand-nephew Randy Lewis and wife Angie and daughter Brenna of Nashville, AR.
She was predeceased by husband Cecil Clay Wimberly and daughter Mary Elizabeth Wimberly Graves.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Merrell Cemetery
