WEST FORK — Fred Edward Townsend, 81 of West Fork, Ark., formerly of Stuttgart, Ark., passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, in Springdale, Ark. He was born Feb. 14, 1937, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Bas Edward Townsend and Bonnie (Council) Townsend.
He was formerly a district manager for Farmer's Insurance Group prior to opening his own insurance and real estate office, Townsend Real Estate. He was a former member and elder at First Presbyterian Church in Stuttgart, Ark.
He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Mary Ann Townsend; three children, Dr. Michael Townsend of Port Orange, Fla., Tracie Snider of Lexington, Tenn., and Ginger Long of West Fork, Ark. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Tabitha, Jacob, Mitchell, Haley and Whitney Townsend, Lauren and Sydney Snider, and Camryn and Joshua Long.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28, at West Fork Cemetery with Reverend Tim Reeves officiating.
