Olen Corbit, 97, entered his eternal home on May 17, 2017. He was born May 5, 1920 to the late Arizona Willis Corbit and John Thomas Corbit. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 65 years, Corene Fritts Corbit; daughter, Connie Corbit Gordon; brother, JT Corbit; sisters, Clara and Dorothy Throckmorton and Irene Graham.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Ridings (Kevin); son, Tommy Corbit (Patty); son-in-law, Denny Gordon; chosen son and daughter, Clois and Connie Cox; 5 grandchildren, Jayme Gordon, PJ Corbit, Canessa Jones, Heather Altom and Alex Feather and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gordon and Landon Jones. He loved to fish, garden, play dominoes, cards and bean bag baseball.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Velvet Ridge Cemetery

Alma Corene (Fritts) Corbit, 82, of Bradford, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. She was born August 7, 1931 in Bald Knob a daughter of the late Luther Glenn and Cindy Gertrude King Fritts. Mrs. Corbit was a homemaker and attended the Velvet Ridge Church of God. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and fishing.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Olen Corbit; daughter, Deborah Ridings (Kevin); son, Tommy Corbit (Patty); son-in-law, Denny Gordon; granddaughters, P.J. Corbit and Heather Altom; grandsons, Jayme Gordon and Alex Feather; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Gordon; siblings, Cal Landis, Harvey Fritts, Martha Moore, Billy Fritts, Glenda Graham and Janet Griebel; special family friends, Clois and Connie Cox and Canessa, Bryon and Landon Jones.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Gordon.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Velvet Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Doug Swindle and Bro. Tim Corley officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
