David Lee McCallister, 81, of Bradford, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Little Rock. He was born August 29, 1935 in Ferndale, Arkansas a son of the late Owen David and Helen Katherine (Teaster) McCallister. David was a United States Veteran and proudly served during the Korean War. He was a retired railroad employee and worked mostly as a rail foreman. David was a member of the American Legion and the Velvet Ridge Church of Christ and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends.
He is survived by 11 siblings, Wayne McCallister, Nancy Cannedy, Hershel Mason, Betty Hartle, Tony Mason, Vickie Leonard, Jimmy Lee Busby, Doyle Mason, Syble Fritts, Bobby Davidson, and Nelma Story.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Connie Hamby and Audrey Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Velvet Ridge Church of Christ. Visitation will be prior to the funeral, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Velvet Ridge Cemetery
