November 19, 1948 - August 11, 2019
Ronald A. McAteer, a.k.a. Gramps, Oldman, and MAC MAN finished his journey on this earth and entered his heavenly home on August 11, 2019.
Ron was born on November 19, 1948 and was the son of Berlin and Darlis McAteer of Camden, AR. Ron is survived by his wife, Freida of Ashdown, AR; son, Shane McAteer and his wife Necie of Camden, AR; son JR McKinney and his wife Aimee of Texarkana, AR; sister Freida Terrebonne of El Dorado, AR; granddaughters Kinzey, Abby (husband Matt), and Piper; grandsons Braiden, Ethan, and Caven; and great grandson Rowan. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ron was a graduate of Fairview High School “Class of 1966”. And proudly served his country in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He worked for International Paper Company in Camden and Domtar Paper Co where he retired.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wheeler riding. He especially enjoyed his deer camp, “Red M Hunting Club” and the friends that came along with it.
The graveside service will be August 13, 2019 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bluff City, AR at 2:00 p.m. Brother Toby Davis will officiate.
