When Lucy Jane Childers was born on April 21, 1889, in Saline, Illinois, her father, John, was 22, and her mother, Patience, was 23. She married Claude Charles Thomas VanAstrand and they had one son together. She then married Albert Mc Neil Nuckolls and they had two children together. She died on December 11, 1975, in Kensett, Arkansas, at the age of 86.

When Albert McNeil Nuckolls was born on September 15, 1888, in Bolivar, Tennessee, his father, Lewis, was 43 and his mother, Mary, was 38. He married Lucy Jane Childers in 1920 in Waynesburg, Ohio. They had two children during their marriage. He died on February 6, 1947, in Kensett, Arkansas, at the age of 58.
