Clyde C. Crowder, a resident of St. Francisville, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Louisiana War Veterans Home, Jackson. He was 86 and was retired from Texas Eastern with 45 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Visiting at First Baptist Church in St. Francisville until religious service, conducted by the Rev. Joe Ratcliff and the Rev. Kevin Cheatham. Burial in Patterson Cemetery, Slaughter. Arrangements entrusted to Charlet Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Katie Lee Crowder; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Doyle Sheets, Fort Smith, Ark., Linda and Dave White, Farmersville, Ill., and Sherry and John Ard, Monroeville, Ala.; grandchildren, Neal McGill, Clay McGill, James Michael McGill, Meredith Jones, Brian Davis, Adam White, Chris Ard, Ben Ard, Rebecca Gregson, Cody Worsham, Kevin Worsham, Tyler Burton, Brian Daniel, Chris Daniel and Misaki Daniel; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Crowder Sr. and Verna Betty Crowder.

Clyde loved his family, friends and church family. This was evident by his actions. He enjoyed fishing, too. Clyde, you will be missed.
