Mrs. Bessie Harris Markell, native Pulaskian, died unexpectedly of a heart attack, Tuesday night, January 28, at a hospital in Grosse Point, Mich.
Funeral services took place at Wilkinson Funeral Home in DeQueen, Ark., on Saturday with the burial in DeQueen. Mr. Markell died several years ago.
The daughter of the late Richard S. (Dick) Harris, former County Court Clerk of Giles County, and Mrs. Eddie Eubank Harris, she was born and reared in Pulaski and was graduated from Martin College.
Mrs. Marshall is survived by one son, Lee Markell, DeQueen, Ark.; one daughter, Miss Betty Jo Markell, New York City; and two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Bryan and Mrs. Alberta Weaver, Nashville; and one brother, Richard E. Harris, Johnson City.
