FAYETTEVILLE — Anthony L. Bahar, 94, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Feb. 26, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Nov. 21, 1917, at Chicago, Ill., the son of Anton and Rose Cerer Bahar.

He was a retired pressman for R.R. Connelly in Chicago, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Violet Bahar, on Dec. 6, 2009. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Bahar, and one sister, Louise Struteck.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Louise Bahar of Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 20, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, with Father John Connell officiating. Private interment will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Memorials may be made to Willard Walker Hospice Home, 34 Colt Square, Fayetteville, AR 72703.

SPRINGDALE — Mary Violet Babar, 92, died Dec. 6, 2009, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale. She was born July 25, 1917, in Chicago to John and Caroline Hucava Oberman.

She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony; one daughter, Mary Louise Bahar of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; three brothers and one sister, Molly Grunn of Fayetteville.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Raphael Catholic Church.

Cremation was by Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
