Earl L. Schlabach, 74, of Mountain View entered into rest May 25, 2011 at his home. Earl and Viola have lived in Mountain View since 1968.

He was a member of the Quitman Gospel Light Mennonite Church.

He was born June 1, 1936 in Hartville, Ohio to Levi and Mary (Sommers) Schlabach.

On September 21, 1957 Earl married Viola (Gingerich) who survives. From this union came four children: Ron (Ruth) Schlabach of Hillsville, VA, Brian (Dorothy) Schlabach of Quitman, AR, Wanda (Andrew) Hochstetler of Salisbury, NC, Rachel (Jay) Hershberger of Hillsville, VA , Along with twenty-eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Lewis Schlabach and wife Alma; sisters, Lucille Schlabach and Alma Miller and husband Willis and a brother-in-law, Adin Troyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Mary Schlabach and a sister, Edna Troyer.

Visitation is 2 -4 p.m., and 6 8 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011 at Flatwoods Baptist Church in Mountain View.

Funeral service is 10 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2011 at Flatwoods Baptist Church with Elmer Gingerich Moderator; Dale Hershberger, Obituary; Nelson Kurtz, Message and Graveside by Allen Schrock with interment in Fredonia Cemetery.

Music is provided by the Mennonite Youth Group.

Pallbearers are Justin Hochstetler , Philip Hochstetler, Landon Schlabach, Roland Schlabach, Keith Schlabach and Lyndon Bontrager.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.
