Sara "Sally" Jane Gillcrist, 89, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on September 7, 2012. Mrs. Gillcrist was born on October 29, 1922 in Mountain View, Arkansas to John Croft and Mary (Hagan) Newman. Mrs. Gillcrist was a World War II Army Nurse. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by one son, Richard Gillcrist of Mountain View, Arkansas; one daughter, Yvonne Nesseth of Mountain View, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Sara Ward and husband Tim of Bauxite, Arkansas and Will Cox and wife Sarah of Mountain View, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren, Chris, Brittany, and Nick Ward; Tucker and Zane Cox; Logan and Garrett Hudspeth.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Croft Newman and Mary (Hagan) Newman Bradley; husband, Roger T. Gillcrist; one brother, Jay C. Newman.
Visitation will take place on Monday, September 10, 2012, from 5-7PM at the Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Services will take place on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, 10:00AM at the Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Brother Ron Newberry will officiate. Interment will take place a Fredonia Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Logan Hudspeth, Frank Terry, Aaron Terry, James Newman, Jay Newman, and Skip Thurman.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Mountain View Public Library or the Fredonia Cemetery fund.
