SPRINGDALE — Vernon Andrew Welkley, 81 of Springdale passed away Monday August 3, 2015, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born October 31, 1933, in Johnson, Arkansas to Vess and Roxie Martin Welkley. He was a Security Guard for Northwest Medical Center in Springdale for twenty six years. He retired in 2008. He loved his dog Topie and enjoyed his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Allen Welkley, three sisters, Eula, Lola and Mary and three brothers, J.C., Chester and Jessie. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Welkley of the home; two daughters, Sue Youngman of Springdale and Brenda May of Lowell; one sister, Jewell Gibson of Springdale; six grandchildren, Bronzetta, Christen, Bronson, Dustin, Laramie and Montana and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery in Springdale with Billy Luper officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
