Louis Clarence Saling, Jr. died at his home in Mountain View, Arkansas on August 21, 2016. He was born May 16, 1927 in Louisville, Kentucky to his late parents Louis Clarence Saling, Sr. and Lena Lutrell Saling. He had been married to the love of his life Annie Saling for 32 years.

Louis is survived by his wife Annie Saling of the home; three daughters, Dalena White and Roy of Romney, West Virginia, Lourinda Zies and Steven of Chantilly, Virginia, and Evonne Sisler and Charles of Manassas, Virginia; three stepsons, Ted Miller of Mountain View, Arkansas, Ned Miller and Stacy of Deerfield, Illinois, and Edd Miller and Anita of Vernon Hills, Illinois; he also has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Clarence Saling, Sr. and Lena Lutrell Saling; two sisters, Rose Taylor and Eileen Taylor, and one brother, Chester Saling.

Louis spent 21 years in the United States Navy and was a veteran of three wars; World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fleet Reserve. Louis was active with the veteran’s organizations and was Commander of the V.F.W. in Mountain View and Tumbling Shoals, and also served as North East area Vice-Commander of the American Legion.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place on Thursday on August 25, 2016, 10:00 AM at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas with Brother Johnny Williams officiating. Interment will be at Fredonia Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas with full military honors.
