Thomas Bridgewater was the son of Charles Bridgewater and Alice DeHart.
He was married on 23 May 1930 in Corning, Clay Co., Arkansas, to Beulah Haze James. They moved from Corning to Illinois about 1937 settling at Rockford in Winnebago County where they remained until Thomas’ death. Thomas had been employed in construction by Gust Larson Construction Company, and before that with Sjostrom and Sons, Inc., for several years.
He was a member of Pentecostal Church of God, and of AF of L Local 32.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, a son, and three daughters; his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.

Beulah James Bridgewater Murphy, 90, died in St. Francis Hospital, Memphis. A resident of Southaven, Mississippi, she resided and worked in Rockford, Illinois, retiring to Thayer, Missouri where she attended Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church. She had attended Southaven Community Church for the past ten years.
She was preceded in death by husbands Thomas Bridgewater and Rod Murphy, brothers Dee, Clarence, Noel, Troy, Leamon, Charley, Don and Aubrey James, and sisters, Fay Henson, Geraldine James and Nova May James.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning in Ermert Funeral Home chapel. Memorial may be made to the Liver Foundation.
