LEPANTO — Frances H. Jones, 88, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008.
Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Waterford, Miss., to John and Golie Henderson.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Lou Jones of Lakeland, Tenn., and Nancy Bramlette of Little Rock. She also leaves five grandchildren, Susan (Keith) Thompson of Allen, Texas, Brian Bramlette and Carrie (Jimmy) Young, both of Little Rock, and Matthew Jones and Jennifer Jones of Alpharetta, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan Bramlette of Little Rock and Oliver Thompson of Allen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cordell Jones; a son, Bobby Jones; two brothers; and six sisters.
Mrs. Jones was a member of First Baptist Church of Lepanto for more than 60 years. She taught Sunday school classes and served on numerous committees.
Mrs. Jones owned and operated the Western Auto store along with her husband Cordell for more than 15 years. She also worked at St. Francis Valley Motor Co. and at East Arkansas Health Clinic in Lepanto.
Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto.
Funeral services will be held at Lepanto First Baptist Church Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Duffel, pastor, conducting the services. Burial will follow immediately in Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto. Murphy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Lepanto or the John Henderson scholarship fund, Little River Bank, Lepanto.
