When Ella P Allen was born in August 1867 in Mississippi, her father, John, was 23, and her mother, Martha, was 24. She married James Harvey Riddell on March 1, 1888, in Choctaw, Mississippi. They had four children during their marriage. She died in 1960 at the age of 93, and was buried in Lepanto, Arkansas.

When James Harvey Riddell was born on May 13, 1863, in Choctaw, Mississippi, his father, John, was 58 and his mother, Mary, was 39. He married Ella P Allen on March 1, 1888, in his hometown. They had four children during their marriage. He died on January 25, 1940, in Lepanto, Arkansas, at the age of 76, and was buried there.
