Harmon N. Robinson, 87, of Corning, Ark., died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, in Corning.

Mr. Robinson was born Nov. 22, 1912, at Barfield, Ark., and attended the First Baptist Church in Corning where he taught the men's Sunday school class for several years. He graduated from Blytheville High School, Arkansas Tech at Russellville and the University of Arkansas. He also did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin. He was a teacher at Corning High School from 1947-1960 and from 1960-1984 he worked at the Corning Bank as a farm representative. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the Southern Pacific 49th K-9 Corps. He was a scoutmaster of the Corning Boy Scout Troup No. 15 for eight years, served as city councilman from 1963-1967, and was a charter member of the Corning Kiwanis.

On Oct. 4, 1947, he married Catherine Chapman at Rison, Ark.; she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Randy Robinson of Rockport, Maine, and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Catherine Robinson, 91, of Corning, AR., passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mrs. Robinson was born in Rison, AR., on November 24, 1928. She was retired from Arkansas Tourist Information Center where she was the manager after 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Corning.

She married her husband of 52 years Mr. Harmon Robinson on October 4, 1947, he preceded her in death on June 13, 2000.

She is survived by her son Randy Robinson and wife Marjorie of Rockport, ME.; grandchildren Maggie, Nicole and Dylan Robinson; stepson Max; three nieces and one nephew.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents Huley Elmer and Willie Era (Jones) Chapman; two sisters; and one brother.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Corning Cemetery with Reverend Josh Raspberry officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 701 W 3rd St., Corning, AR 72422 or Arkansas Children’s Foundation, PO Box 2222, Little Rock, AR 72203-9984.
