Dennis McFarlin, 55, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in Corning.

He was a veteran and member of Grassylead Church of Christ in Corning.

Survivors include a son, Bryan McFarlin; brothers, Sidney McFarlin of Corning, Larry Darr of Jonesboro, Leonard Darr and Kenny Darr, both of Mountain Home; and sisters, Norma Jo White of Corning and Mary Pelts of Mountain Home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Corning Cemetery under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home of Corning.

CORNING, AR (KAIT) - A late Tuesday accident claims the life of a Corning man after a train hits his pickup.

55-year-old Dennis Ray McFarlin died after crossing the railroad tracks at CR 181. A train, traveling northbound, struck McFarlin's 1988 Chevy truck in the side.

McFarlin was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner's office.

It is unknown why McFarlin may have crossed the tracks, but weather was listed as clear skies with dry roads. McFarlin was not wearing a seat-belt.
