Marion R. Smith, 66, of De Queen died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, in a local hospital.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Eagletown, Okla. He was retired from the trucking industry and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Bales of De Queen; two sons, Randy Smith of De Queen and Steve Smith of Murfreesboro, Ark.; one daughter, Vicki Verser of Ashdown, Ark.; his mother, Effie Mae Smith of De Queen; two brothers, Ed Smith of Sherwood, Ark., and Henry Smith of De Queen; two sisters, Jerry Ann Morris of Horatio, Ark., and Pauline Vickers Black of De Queen; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Faron Rogers officiating.
Burial will be in Redmen Cemetery.

Glenda Nadine Bales Smith, age 84, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 in De Queen Therapy and Living Center.
She was born December 11, 1931 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Marion R. Smith on August 29, 1998 and parents, John and Ann French Bales.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Verser of Ashdown, Arkansas; two sons, Randy Smith of De Queen and Steve Smith of Murfreesboro, Arkansas; two sisters, Maxine Whitley and Gayle Warren; and 5 grandchildren.
Private Graveside services were held at Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
