When Charles Thomas McClain was born on March 7, 1932, in Ozark, Arkansas, his father, Thomas, was 22 and his mother, Beryl, was 23. He married Margaret Hellen Bearden on June 25, 1953, in San Diego, California. They had one child during their marriage. He died on November 18, 2009, in Bald Knob, Arkansas, at the age of 77, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
