When Charles Banks Tippins was born on July 10, 1922, in Savannah, Georgia, his father, Charles, was 26 and his mother, Thelma, was 23. He married on September 27, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas. He had three children during his marriage. He died on January 24, 2000, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 77, and was buried there.
