Cloyce Pierce, 65, of Corning died Thursday, March 13, at his home.

Born at Tipparery, he was the Corning chief of police. A Baptist, he served as Clay County sheriff from 1974-86.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Pierce of the home; one daughter, Angela Bickford of Conway; one stepdaughter, Laurie Price of Corning; one stepson, Larry Rodery of Corning; one brother, Donald Pierce of Corning; six sisters, Wanda Herren, Sandra Fox and Velma Pierce, all of Corning, Louise Cantwell of St. Peters, Mo., Beulah Mae Greenwood of Doniphan, Mo., and Betty Doris Pheifer of St. Louis; and three grandchildren, Seth Bickford, Dalton Price and Zowie Rodery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Irma Pierce, and one brother, Johnnie Pierce.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ermert Funeral Home chapel at Corning, with the Rev. David Richey officiating. Burial will be in Corning Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Cloyce Pierce Fund to provide a tornado alert system for the city of Corning in care of First National Bank of Corning.
