Mr H.J. Jones, 84, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the John Cochran V.A. Medical Center in Saint Louis, MO. Mr. Jones was born in Arbyrd, MO., on September 22, 1929. Mr. Jones was owner and operator of Brakenridge Upholstery. He enjoyed studying his Bible, fishing, and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of Moark Baptist Church.

He married his wife of 57 years Nina Marie (Prince) Jones on September 15, 1951. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2009.

He is survived by three children Brenda Gifford of Farris, TX., Lesa White of Corning, AR., John Johns and wife Kim of Branson, MO.; two brothers Jim Jones, Bill Jones, four sisters Lora Mae O'Neal, Linda Anderson, Della Mae Donaldson, Betty Ann Shriner; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents Henry Jackson and Bertha Mae (Hyslip) Jones and one daughter Norma Greear.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Dustin Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.

Nina Jones,75, of Corning,Ark., died Friday, May 15, 2009, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Moark Baptist Church, a homemaker. Her hobbies included her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, charitable contributions and fishing.

On September 15, 1951, she married HJ Jones, who survives.

Other survivors include three daughters,Brenda Fehlman of Melbourne, Texas, Norma Greear, of Salem, Ill., and Lesa White of Kinmundy, Ill., one son John Jones of Doniphan; three brothers, Jim Prince of Success, Ark., Ralph Prince and Richard Prince both of Corning; four sisters, Velma Tyler, Sue Hines, and Pat Tutor, all of Corning, and Claudia Kohlbrecher of Mountain Home, Ark.;10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Monday, May 18 in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Smith officiating.

Burial in the Corning Cemetery.
