Frances Rogers Blakney, age 86, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, September 9th in the Dubuis Hospital of Texarkana.
She was born on August 24, 1922 to Edmond and Gertrude Hedges King in the Cross Trails Community in De Queen, Arkansas.

She attended Cross Trails country school and schools in De Queen. She was owner of "Rogers Country" Antiques, and enjoyed buying, selling, and restoring antiques, as well as poetry, oil painting, and reading. She was past member of the Society of Creative Writers, and was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Opal Wilbanks, Dorothy Hopson, and Bettie Slaton, four brothers, Donald King, Vernon "Chuck" King, Jerry King, and Merle "Pete" King, and two husbands, Claude A. Rogers and James Warner Blakney.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy A. Rogers, Sr. and Robbie Goins of Horatio, and Ken and Glenda Rogers of De Queen, two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charles Cox of Wichita, Kansas, and Bonnie and Joe Ellis of Conway, Ark.; and one brother, John L. King of De Queen. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Michelle Muehlberg of Virginia, Amy Gunnerson of Maryland, Emilie Thompson of Conway, AR, and Kendra Icenhower of De Queen, four grandsons, Roy A. Rogers, Jr., Joey Rogers and Robbie D. Rogers all of De Queen, and Grant Cox of Wichita, Kansas, fourteen great-grandchildren, seven step-children, Jimmie Lou, Gary, Mike, Glen, Robin, Cindy, and Joyce, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Rogers Blakney will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, De Queen, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, DeQueen.
