Mayme Iris Clem, 83, of Lepanto died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at SMC Regional Medical Center in Osceola.

She was a member of Lepanto United Methodist Church. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her church and her town.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Patrick Clem.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia "Patty" Kious (Kevin) of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Wesley Sanders Gosselink (Garrett) and Marci Sanders Reiter (John); great-grandchildren, Parker John Gosselink and Reed McAlister Gosselink; sister, Ivadell Crawford of Quitman, Miss.; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial was in Potter Memorial Cemetery.

Mayme Iris McAlister was born on May 29, 1926. She married John Patrick Clem on November 25, 1950, in Arkansas. She died on January 4, 2010, in Osceola, Arkansas, at the age of 83, and was buried in Lepanto, Arkansas.

When John Patrick Clem was born on July 11, 1928, his father, John, was 41 and his mother, Goldie, was 33. He married Mayme Iris McAlister on November 25, 1950, in Arkansas. He died on February 26, 1996, in Lepanto, Arkansas, at the age of 67, and was buried there.
