When Beulah Bonds was born on September 9, 1906, in Arkansas, her father, James, was 21, and her mother, Ethel, was 17. She married Oburn Sumpter Bonds on June 22, 1923, in her hometown. They had two children during their marriage. She died on September 25, 1967, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 61.
