When James "Jim" Clark Skinner was born on August 17, 1901, in Newton, Mississippi, his father, John, was 25 and his mother, Armittie, was 26. He married Cora Elizabeth Hayse (Skinner) on November 1, 1923, in Lepanto, Arkansas. They had three children during their marriage. He died on August 4, 1958, in Trumann, Arkansas, at the age of 56, and was buried in Lepanto, Arkansas.
