ETRIS, Martha WOODS - Mrs. Martha Etris, wife of Capt. A.K. Etris, died last Sunday at her home about four miles east of town. The deceased was a daughter of Wm. H. Woods, better known as "Uncle Billy" Woods, one of the pioneer settlers of Benton county, who died about twelve years ago. Mrs. Etris was about 50 years of age, born and raised near where she died, was a loving wife and fond mother and a devout member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church from childhood to the time of her death. A year ago last winter her youngest child, a boy about six years of age, died with hydrophobia, having been bitten by a rabid dog about six weeks before his death, which was such a blow to the mother that she never quit grieving over it and no doubt went down to death pining over the sad fate of her dear boy. She leaves a husband and several children most of whom are grown, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her. Capt. Etris is also very sick and at last accounts his recovery was doubtful. The sympathies of the community goes out to the bereaved family.
