When George Washington Nichols was born in 1843 in Dunklin, Missouri, his father, Daniel, was 42 and his mother, Eliza, was 38. He had one son from one relationship. He then married Susan Olive Huddleston and they had 12 children together. He died on June 27, 1930, in Poinsett, Arkansas, at the age of 87, and was buried in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
