ROGERS — Joseph Anthony Colianni, age 87, of Rogers lost his battle of over 20 years to cancer on Sept. 3, 2012. Joe was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Columbia Heights, Minn., to parents, John Colianni and Diana Ricci Colianni. Joe served in the United States Navy during World War II and went on to work in the supper club business and later home-remodeling.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Holmquist on Oct. 16, 1975, in Watertown, S.D. In 1980, Joe and Dorothy retired to Northwest Arkansas.

Joe was an avid golfer, member of the Prairie Creek Country Club and was active in the VFW, American Legion and Moose Lodge.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Allen Curtis; two brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; son, Joe Colianni and wife, Marsha of Lake Elmo, Minn.; daughter, Linda Johnson and husband, Donnie, of New Brighton, Minn.; stepson, Gary Curtis and wife, Carrie, of Greenwood, Ark.; stepdaughter, Julie Curtis of Rogers; brother, Louis Colianni and wife, Vi, of Seadrift, Texas; sister, Helen Heinche of Minnetonka, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service and dinner is set from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at the Corona Restaurant in Prairie Creek, Ark. All family and friends are invited.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Highlands Oncology for their many years of excellent care and also Circle of Life Hospice for their care in the last days. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.
