Sharon Kay Mullens Desiderio, 59, of Russellville Arkansas Died Saturday morning August 4, 2012 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock Arkansas. Sharon was born January 9, 1953 the only child of Bert M. and Annette Mullens of Russellville Arkansas. She was married to George Anthony Desiderio of Russellville and they resided in Russellville and Maumelle Arkansas. George is an employee of Dillard's Inc., and Sharon was a retired Arkansas State Employee. They were married at St. Johns Catholic Church in Russellville, Arkansas on October 23, 1999. Sharon was active in her work and community. She started her work career at the Employment Security Division, she became the Director of Alumni at Arkansas Tech University, First Managing Director of Wildflower Retirement community in Russellville, and finishing her career with the State of Arkansas at the Department of Human Services as an inspector. Sharon was an alumnus of Arkansas Tech University (BA 76'), Charter member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, member of P.E.O. chapter in Russellville, Member of the Russellville Chamber of Commerce, Chair person of the Red Coat Committee, Win organization, The Russellville Business & Professional Women Association. She was a supporter of the Russellville Young Life Ministry, and a Member of First United Methodist Church in Russellville.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Bert C. and Helen Mullens, Mace and Violet Henry. She is survived by her husband George Anthony Desiderio, her parents Bert M. and Annette Mullens, her In-Laws Frank and Joyce Desiderio all of Russellville, and many other extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Humphrey Funeral Service on West Main Street in Russellville. There will be an early grave side service Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 9 a.m. for family and close friends at Rest Haven Memorial Park on South Knoxville Ave. followed by a memorial service at 10 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 304 South Commerce in Russellville Arkansas with reception to follow. Pallbearers are John Whiteside, Dr. David Oats, Jim Woker, Chuck O'Dell, Bobby James, Mike Roys, Gordon Blackwell, and Horary Pallbearers Dallas County Sherriff Deputies and Reserves.

Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, or The American Diabetes Foundation.
