Ellaveese Ruth Autrey Craig, age 92, a resident of Benton, Arkansas and formerly of De Queen, died Saturday, February 13, 2016, in Benton. She was born August 19, 1923 in De Queen. She worked at Brookes Drug Store for several years, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, was a homemaker most of her life and was known as “Mama Craig” to all her children’s friends and her grandchildren who shared many a meal and conversation around the family kitchen table.
She has been in Benton for the last 12 years with dementia/Alzheimer’s but will be remembered as a MOMS mom by all who knew her. She lived her life for her children and even though her life here on earth is now over, Gods’ light now shines brighter as she has joined him for eternity.
Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Henry and Ruth Autrey; her mother, Clara Westbrook; her husband, Chester Lee Craig, one son, Stanley Craig; one brother, Junior Autrey and one sister, Louise Yettman.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, one daughter, two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Craig will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2016, in Redmen Cemetery with Rev. Mark Cloninger officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16th at the funeral home.
