Alvin Lee Shepherd, Sr., 77, of Brentwood Community, died January 23, 2018 at Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born July 8, 1940, in Orange County, Calif., to Harvey and Tennie Orman Shepherd.

Alvin was a farmer and enjoyed playing music.

He was preceded in death by one son, James (Charley) Miller; seven sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Scott Shepherd; son, Alvin Lee (Little Al) Shepherd, Jr. of Brentwood; four daughters, Teresa Stewart of Fayetteville, Terry McKaig and Tina Shepherd both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tracy Hungate of Orlando, Fla.; and sister, Martha Maxwell of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Living Faith Church with Rev. Steve Curtis and Rev. Buel Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. at Beard's Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be made to www.beardsfuneralchapel.com.

Nancy Alice Shepherd, 71, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Fayetteville. She was born April 17, 1948 in Fayetteville to Charlie Frank and Virginia Lee Littrell Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin Shepherd; a son, James “Charley” Miller; and a sister, Charlotte Woodward.

Nancy was a pawn shop broker for most of her life. She was a member of Living Faith Church in Fayetteville. Nancy enjoyed music concerts and her animals. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Stewart and husband, Danny of Fayetteville; a son, Alvin Shepherd, Jr. of Winslow; five grandchildren, Meisha Melton, Stephanie Miller, Kimberly Willingham, Justin Groves and Blake Shepherd; and four great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially family, friends and customers.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Beard's Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 10, 2020 at Beard’s Chapel with Pastor Steve Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel. Condolences at www.beardsfuneralchapel.com.
