September 13, 1856 - April 13, 1947
Mrs. Margaret E. Browning passed away Sunday Night at 11:45 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Lair, 115 Clifton Street. She is survived by two sons, Carl Browning, of Tacoma, Washington, and William E. Browning of Vallejo, California; two grandsons, Jack Byars and James Lair of Camden; two nieces, Mrs. Jack Thedford and Mrs. Will Smith of Tyler, Texas. Mrs. Browning was born on September 13, 1855, in Charleston, N.C., and had lived in Ouachita County for the past 50 years. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at Proctor Funeral Home, by Rev. T. L. Harris, assisted by Rev. Elmer Morgan of Cullendale. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Active pallbearers: Clarence Grabert, Sr., Zann Gaston, Mertin Gaston, Walter Willis, W. W. Smart, Clyde Byars, and Walter T. Wells (Camden News - April 14, 1947)
