Robert John Denny, son of the late Robert Cecil Denny and Marjorie Otley Bang Denny, was born May 18, 1946 in Houston, Texas. He departed this life March 7, 2018 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 17 days. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. His working years were spent as a Civil Engineer with the Corp of Engineers in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He proudly served in the United State Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law: Robert C and Bettie Denny of Oxford and David Denny of Salem, Arkansas; two daughters and one son-in-law: Robbin and Karl Ruane of Hadley, New York and Samantha Denny of Iowa; three sisters: June Fletcher of Salem, Jean Tate of Highland, Jeannette Hancock of Branson, Missouri; one sister-in-law: Gaile Denny of Wideman; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Michael Denny.

Visitation will be Monday, March 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne. Burial will be at Oxford Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Robert C. Denny, Jessica Denny (Gier) , Jacob Allen Denny, Deborah Hall, Adam Richardson, Mylissa Garner.
