J.C. "Joe" Cantrell, 87, of West Fork died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at North Hills Life Care and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville.

He was born March 1, 1918, in the Bugscuffle community, the son of John Calvin and Dovie Adline Woolbright Cantrell.

He retired from Ozarks Electric after 37 years of service and served for 12 years as Washington County Tax Collector.

He was a member of Summit Lodge 530 at Winslow, the Scimitar Temple in Little Rock, the Eastern Star Chapter 361 in Winslow and was a charter member of West Fork Lions Club. He was a member of New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by four sisters, a brother and a granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Cantrell, to whom he was married Dec. 24, 1938; a son, Floyd Cantrell and wife Irene of West Fork; a daughter, Joyce Williams of West Fork; a sister, Katie L. Cantrell Templeton of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Jay Cantrell and wife Kelly of West Fork, Bryan Hanna and wife Lynette of West Fork, Kim Murphy and husband Robby of West Fork and Larry Hanna and wife Chrys of Carthage, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor and Trent Hanna of West Fork, Clayton and Baylea Cantrell of West Fork, Wacey and Ethan Murphy of West Fork and Josh Hanna of Carthage; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen D. Faulkner officiating.

Burial will be in West Fork Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church, 13425 Hogeye Road, WC 28, Prairie Grove, 72753 or Arkansas Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, 72203.

WEST FORK — Nellie Parr Cantrell, 87, of West Fork died Dec. 14, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 13, 1922, in Freedom, the daughter of Boze and Ethel Ford Parr. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Cantrell in 2005; her parents; two sisters, Della Mae Parr and Ella Hampton; two brothers, Jimmy Parr and Henry Parr; and a granddaughter, Connie Cantrell.

She retired from Levi-Strauss after 20 years and worked for West Fork lunch room. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 361 Winslow Chapter, New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 12 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Williams of West Fork; a son, Floyd Cantrell and his wife, Irene, of West Fork; four grandchildren, Jay Cantrell and his wife, Kelly, Kimberly Murphy, Bryan Hanna and his wife, Lynette, and Larry Hanna and his wife, Chrys; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor Hanna, Trent Hanna, Josh Hanna, Clayton Cantrell, Baylea Cantrell, Ethan Murphy and Wacey Murphy.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Glen Faulkner and the Rev. Randy Burris.

Burial will be in West Fork Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, AR. 72203.
