Wanda Louise Gillihan Shrable, daughter of the late Eldon Rusaw Gillihan and Helen Marie Thompson Gillihan, was born February 23, 1945 in Twin Creek, Arkansas. She departed this life February 26, 2018 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 73 years and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Freddie Shrable and together they raised one son. She spent her life as a loving daughter, niece, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.
During her working years she was a beautician and she also worked for the United State Postal Service as a Postmaster Replacement. She retired from the Violet Hill Post Office after 31 years of employment. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Twin Creek Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years: Freddie Shrable of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Steven and Joann Shrable of Violet Hill; two granddaughters: Brittany Shrable of Melbourne and Stephanie Henry and husband Brandon of Guam; four great grandchildren: Sebastian Briggs, Qhuincey Briggs, Chase Henry and Peyton Henry and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tim Shrable, Don Grills, Roger Gillihan, Mike Gillihan, Toby Trivitt and Alan Love.
